- An epilepsy awareness cross country bicycle ride gets underway Monday in South Florida.
Bicyclists are expected to begin the two-month long journey at 6 a.m. in Aventura and they’re expected to travel throughout North America until they reach Seward, Alaska on June 18th.
South Florida resident Glenn Fenster, the founder of Destinymaker, has biked more than 100,000 miles over the last 7 ½ years to raise epilepsy awareness.
Fenster says his pedaling pales in comparison to the courage his son and others exhibit each day they live with epilepsy. Fenster’s 16-year-old son Nyle started suffering from seizures at the age of two.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida estimates 360 thousand Floridians suffer from the debilitating disease.
