This is so incredible… I had to post it here with citations…
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF EPILEPSY

Out with the OLD and in with the New! Its the final day of December 2010 and “OH” what a year it has been! We have suffered loss, celebrated triumphs, started new beginnings and new adventures and all the while forming, bonding and developing special friendships along the way.
We have comforted one another during our darkest moments and rejoiced with one another in our happiest moments. We have laughed, cried and even been silly with each other all in the name of Epilepsy. We have confided, listened and shown care and compassion for each other most of us complete strangers brought together and bonded through the Gift of our Children or those in our families that suffer daily with Epilepsy and Seizures.
New Years Eve is a time of reflection, a time to think of what leaving the year behind us will teach us to do in the New Year beginning. It is a time to reflect on the Good and the Bad of the previous year and how every experience we went through made us stronger than we realize, the Good makes us Strong, but getting through the tough times and pain of suffering makes us even stronger. Its a time to renew our Faith, to have Hope in the future and what lies ahead and to Believe, Believe that no matter what life throws us we can survive because we have the Strength, the Courage, and the Faith.
One look at our Children gives us the inspiration to carry on and not “GIVE UP” THEY NEVER GIVE UP so why should we. Everyday they prove to us “WHY” we do what we do its simple it’s because they BELIEVE, they believe in US they know we will fight to the ends of the earth for them. “Winners never Quit and Quitters Never Win”
Their is a special story I hold close to my heart that rings true for all of us and or those that have a child with Special Needs and it starts like this:
A Special Child waiting to be born asked God “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live their being so small and helpless?”
God Answered, “Among the many angels, I have chosen one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”
The Child paused and again asked God. “But tell me, here in Heaven, I don’t do anything else but sing and smile, that’s enough for me to be happy.”
“Your angel will sing for you and also smile for you everyday and you will feel your angel’s love and be so happy.” God replied.
“Oh”, the Child said, and how am I going to be able to understand the language they speak?” And then glancing at God the Child asked “What am I going to do when I want to talk to you?” God softly touched the Child on the head and said, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”
The Child then asked, “I have heard on earth their can be evil. “Who will protect me?” ” Ah, “God answered, “Your Angel will defend you even if it means risking her own life.”
“But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore. “Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.” God said.
At that very moment their was peace in Heaven but the voices from earth could already be heard, and the Child in a hurry asked softly , “Oh God If I am to leave now, Please tell me my new angels name.”
Sweetly God looked at his child and whispered, “You will be calling your Angel by another name, you will simply call her MOMMY.”
So you see their is purpose and reason for you and for us being brought together and its simple The Children. So as the year 2010 comes to a close be thankful for the things that are important in your life and let go of those that are not. Remember the past is the past and we should all look forward to a very bright tomorrow a New Year, a New beginning and the chance to make 2011 so much better and to change, the hearts, minds of those that do not understand what we go through each and everyday and to get them on board and help us with funding for Epilepsy. WE WILL FIND THAT CURE!!!!
From my family to yours I wish all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR one that is full of Gods Blessings. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support with the Epilepsy Warriors this would not have happened had it not been for many life lessons and all of you.
